copycat caramel macchiato

Now everybody loves Starbucks, but I think we are all in agreement that our wallets do not like Starbucks. Here's a simple and easy Caramel Macchiato that is just as yummy (and less pricy) than Starbucks!

This will be your new obsession because it is for sure mine! All you need for this recipe is cold brew coffee, vanilla syrup, ice cubes, caramel sauce, half and half, and then your ingredients for the vanilla sweet cream cold foam!

Is this macchiato any different than Starbucks?

Yes, it is different. Starbucks uses espresso in their macchiatos which make it stronger and darker, and I use the Starbucks store bought bottled cold brew from the refrigerated section. Now this is not the only difference though, after discovering the vanilla sweet cream cold foam, I fell in love with it and started adding it to all of my macchiatos.

Which Cold Brew is the best?

Personally, I think that the medium roast, subtly sweet store bought Starbucks cold brew is the best. This is a lighter roast than Starbucks uses, so if you want more of a strong espresso taste, then I recommend buying the dark roast.

Iced Caramel Macchiato Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of Medium Roast Cold Brew (you can find it at Target or your local grocery store)

  • 1/2 cup of Half and Half

  • Ice cubes

  • 3 pumps of vanilla syrup (you can find this at Target or World Market)

  • Caramel for drizzle (I recommend the Ghirardelli Caramel Sauce)

  • Whipped cream or Vanilla Cold Foam Recipe

Directions:

1. Add three pumps of vanilla syrup into the bottom of your cup and fill the cup halfway with ice cubes.

2. Add 1/2 cup of cold half and half to the cup.

3. Slowly pour your 1/2 cup of coffee over the milk and top with the Vanilla Cold Foam, or whipped cream and then drizzle with caramel sauce.

Enjoy your macchiato! (This recipe can be easily made with whatever your preferences are.)
